APPLYING “BRIDGES OUT OF POVERTY” CONCEPTS WORKSHOP

“Bridges” offers a common language of understanding, both for people living in poverty and for those who work with them. The Bridges theory of understanding economic diversity has proven effective in several important areas:
• Delivery of human services
• Efforts by employers to boost retention of employees transitioning from welfare to work
• Bringing disparate groups together to work for long term community stability

This workshop will be offered in Madison.
When: March 12 8:00 am – 4:00 pm
Where: Ivy Tech Community College - Madison, IN
How Much: $15.00 (Due by March 1, 2012) Includes Seminar - Lunch & Refreshments - )The registration is so reasonable due to support received from Lilly Endowment through the Indiana Association of United Ways.)
Who: Educators – Human Service Providers – Employers - Anyone wanting to learn about the impact of poverty on our community
Why: By better understanding the challenge faced by people in poverty, and by learning to suspend the judgments that often accompany interactions
along the continuum of economic class, providers can be partners in paving the way to economic stability. To learn how to apply these concepts to our community.
